Eles parecem ser legais, me perguntaram algumas coisas e respondi...estou esperando o retorno.

No news...

Do vídeo?

Ahh, amanhã vou pra Praia Grande conhecer o apartamento novo do meu pai! ;D

É sempre bom viajar não é?

PERSONAL LETTER

Dear host family,

My name is Juliana Mazali Vanzella, I'm 19 years old and I’m a sophomore student of Administration. I live with my family in a town called São João da Boa Vista in São Paulo state, Brazil.

I was born in São João da Boa Vista and also great part of my family. We live in a comfortable house with a big backyard and view to the mountains (my town is surrounded by a mountain range called Serra da Mantiqueira).

I live with my parents, my two older sisters and our three dogs. My father - Sérgio, is currently retired, he worked during many years in a telecommunication company, now he is administrating a vacation colony in a city called Praia Grande and he stays there with my mother for about fifteen days, then he comes home and stay here for some days (while my parents are in Praia Grande, my sisters and I are responsible for the house and everything that involves domestic duties). My father is my reference of strength of will, humility, honesty and many others qualities. Always a present father, he dedicated his time to teach us that we must never give up our dreams and that we must, always, choose the way of honesty, even if it's the hardest way. My mother - Ondina, is a whole-time mother and she stopped working when she decided to have kids. She is for me an example of dedication, unconditional love, understanding, patience. She supported us (my sisters and I) in our decisions and led us to take the correct direction when we didn't know what to do. I believe that I couldn’t have better persons in my life to guide me except my parents. They taught me the values that a family must have and the values I must keep above any circumstance. My older sister - Fabiana, she is 27 years old and she is an educator. She works in a public Day Care Center and she is passionate with children. We have a lot in common and she is an example for me that we must be strong in our decisions e that we have to follow our hearts. The middle sister - Fernanda, is 23 years old, she is graduated in Administration and works in a bank. Fernanda has always been very organized and methodical, I mirror her in how to plan our goals and outline the best way to achieve them. My sisters and I have always had a great relationship. We always help each other to overcome difficulties and advise each other when needed. We have a lot of fun when we are together, we laugh about silly things and those are the moments I like the most to have with them. Despite not living in the same house, I would like to quote here a person who is also part of who I am today: my aunt - Josefina, she is the gentlest person I ever met in my life, with her I learned that kindness does not have limit and love is essential. I learned with her to like charity and that doing volunteer work is good for who is helped, but even bigger is the gain of who helps.

They say that my town is small, about eighty thousand inhabitants, for me it's just perfect, neither too small nor too large. People here are very friendly and most of the town is formed of families. Everybody knows each other around here. The town has mostly descendants of Europeans; my family is most of Italian descent. The city always offered us great contact with nature, good education and peace. As a city of the country side, there aren't many places for entertainment like malls, museums, parks, so since I was little I learned to enjoy simple things like riding a bicycle by neighborhood, do crafts, listen to music, read and many other things.

I'm a really hard worker person, result of the encouragement of my parents on school activities, and I always try to do everything in the best way I can. I always liked going to school and doing the extra projects that teachers asked. I was a very participative child and I still like to get involved in projects and works. At college I participate in many projects such as Fábrica de Pipa - "Kite Factory", Origamis, Domingo Feliz - "Happy Sunday", I would say that I am a very active and creative person. I have lots of hobbies, some include photographs (I love), take walks, read, go to parks, cooking (my sister Fernanda and I are always trying something new), travel, during the week I go to the gym in a club and sometimes I take walks with my friends. I like sports like volleyball, swimming, dancing, when I was a child I was part of a dancing group and we used to dance in festivals.

I learned how to drive in July of 2008, but only get my driving license a year later. I usually drive with my sisters and with my mom in the car, I’m used to have passengers and would not have any problems in driving with kids, provided with safety equipment appropriate to the child, according to age.

The college of Administration showed me many opportunities that I couldn’t see before, I feel more open to possibilities and confident with myself. I like to do this course and I think I will use it both in my professional and personal life.

My relationship with kids has always been of very caring, I love children and living with them is a really fascinating experience, I learn something new everyday. I work in a Day Care near my house and even though we try to keep a routine in the day care, new situations always appears and this is what makes me feel motivated. There I learned a lot, for example, new ways of making a child sleep, new activities and what senses of the child it works, some potty training, new songs, and I also help with everyday tasks like diaper changing, bathing, feeding, give bottle, singing, playing, drawing, painting, going to the playground. The nursery kids attached themselves to me very quickly (and so did I to them), I think kids like me because I’m always playing with them and laughing. I take care of kids between 6 months and 6 years, but usually I spend more time staying with the babies. I also took care of my sister’s goddaughter, Victória, for a year, from 9 months to 22 months, I stayed with her on Saturday mornings, gave her bottle, bathing, playing, had a stroll and prepared her food. With Victória I had the opportunity to do individual activities and learned to understand in more details the characteristics of her personality and the games she liked the most. I always liked kids and I always wanted to help my aunt with her grandson, Luan. When I was at home in my free time I would go to her house and help her take care of him, or simply spend the afternoon playing.
In our college project, Kite Factory, we deal with kids of all ages, but the largest concentration is between 4 and 8 years (it’s difficult to specify, because it depends on where we go, and we’re always changing), we make kites with the kids and interact with them while teaching some craft, the same happens with the origami, we teach kids to make little paper animals and explain what are the origin of them.

I am very excited for my year as an Au Pair and I believe that this will be a year of much learning, experiences and happiness for both sides. I am really curious and one of my curiosities has always been to know the American culture closer and living with an American family will be something unforgettable. I’m sure that I’ll take this opportunity to improve my English as well as get more knowledge in different areas, get more independence and a new vision of world. I would like to know my future host family better, how your kids are and if you want me to join the family as much as I want to participate.

I’m sure we can have a wonderful year together! I’m super anxious to talk to you! If you want to send me an e-mail asking about anything, feel free, I understand the concern of parents with their children and I would do the same. My e-mail is ************@hotmail.com, my name on Skype is *********** and if you want to see more videos and photos, you can go to my Youtube channel which is www.youtube.com/*******.

I hope to talk to you as soon as possible!

Yours sincerely,
Juliana
